10 Day Fast in Moments

1// Nature walk.
2// Hello I'm Marissa and I am addicted to guacamole.
3// Homemade tea latte.
4// Happy mail day.
5// New Moon brewing.
6// Trying my creations.
7// Unleashing my inner-warrioress. aka working out.
8// Studying.
9// Museum date.
10// Label making!

Basically, I felt isolated and lonely during my fast, but it put things into perspective. Balancing the technology world and physical world we live in, especially us bloggers and online business owners, can be a challenge. I will not be adding FB back on my phone- so not necessary to me now, but I am happy to go back to the private groups I am in for support. And instagram! I will continue to add these moments into my days though. Balance is key. Overall, it was a very productive 10 days!

Happy Valentine's Day! Hope it is a lovely one. I'll be staying in tonight with my boys (Jimmy and little Theo). I am not one to emphasize today, but Valentine's is special to me because it was also our second date. I wasn't sure if he knew that and I definitely didn't want to mention it at the time. No pressure! He later told me he knew, and tried to get me some flowers but they were all sold out, haha. We went to a little whole in the wall Italian restaurant and then watched Amelie <3 So that's why Valentine's day is special to me :)

Love and Blessings,

Grounding

After releasing a big project, I have heard you can go through an unsettling phase after. I sure am. The phase has a theme of ungrounded, scattered energy. Everything is scattered: my thoughts, emotions, my clothes, and my energy is a big blah. I have been floating in the ether for so long, my soul is not use to Earth at the moment. And to be completely honest, Earth has always felt like foreign ground to me; I believe we all have themes and lessons we must learn in this lifetime, and one of mine is Earth Medicine. My lower chakras, pertaining to my physical body (mostle root and sacral) have always been imbalanced, so it is time to bring back some nourishment, me thinks. It has been far too long Marissa.

Samhain was not the best for me this year, a lot of issues surfaced, and it made me realize how much I need a clearing out in all areas of my life. And it needs to start with me, in my body, in my mind, in my heart and soul. The sacred sage bundle (above) and a beautiful set of stones (above is Garnet) is exactly what my soul needed this morning. I ordered this set from Sage Goddess and it was one of the first things I woke up to. The sage bundle has rosemary and rose petals and smells absolutely divine. I have been carrying it around with me all day just smelling and savoring it. I even smudged the inside of my car and it got way too smoky in there, haha, lesson learned! It is healing to say the least. And Garnet is a stone of the root chakra so I have been keeping myself grounded.

A nice start off to November, I think. Keep yourselves grounded loves and remember releasing is  apart of life (more of a reminder to me). Love to you all this November <3

10 Days of Juicing: Day 2

So Today...

I had the BEST breakfast juice! I read it is best to have your fruits juiced in the morning and stick with veggies for the rest of the day, with a dash of fruit for flavor. So my morning juice consisted of:

  • 1 mango
  • 2 white peaches
  • 1 bartlett pear
  • a handful of spinach

It was sooo good! Definitely going to keep this one in my recipe list! It was a little thicker, almost like a smoothie, and so tropically sweet! Yum.mie.

The Lunch juice... Not so appetizing. I was feeling very nauseated after this.

I had to drink a sip a water after each sip of juice... next time I will stick to an actual recipe! It was very beety and earthy... INTENSE.

This drink from Mother's Market was better, and called the Goddess of Greens. Love the name!

But I have to admit something, at the end of Day 2, I failed. I gave in and had a quinoa salad. My lunch drink was so disgusting to me, I couldn't juice after that. Even the Goddess of Greens couldn't bring me back. I feel really bad about it. And again, today what is supposed to be Day 3,  I had a light lunch of salad and apricots.

Maybe adjusting the plan is okay. It is easier for me to juice in the morning and evening, and have a lunch at work.

Besides my failure, I notice my teeth feel cleaner throughout the day. Towards the end of the day I usually feel the buildup of all the junk I throw in my mouth, but my teeth just feel better. I guess that should probably happen if you eat the right things!

So I guess I don't know where this leaves me. I am still going to juice, but maybe not be so spontaneous and prep more if I am going to fast. For now, I'll be juicing a lot and eating light lunches and dinners. I am sorry if I disappointed any of you who wanted to read more of my juicing experience, but I will definitely post some great juice recipes I find! Definitely try the one above, it is so so good!

Love and Blessings,
Marissa Moondaughter

10 Days of Juicing: Day 1

The happenings of today...

My morning juice!
My lunch juice! But I ran out really quickly (It wasn't filled all the way) It takes a lot of veggies to juice!

So I went to Mother's Market and got something from there juice bar

Jimmy and I went shopping and these are our spoils :)

My dinner juice!

Me wanting solid food!

I survived my first day of juicing! I handled it pretty well, but got cranky around dinner time. The juices are very filling and yummy! You can get really creative with juices! On to day two! Goodnight, dear ones!

Love and Blessings,
Marissa Moondaughter
