Full Moon: Forgiveness Ceremony

Happy Full Moon, loves.

Forgiveness has been on my mind lately. I need to forgive and let go. Softening and peace need to reside in this new nest I am building. So I created this ritual to allow this to occur. Enjoy.

Forgiveness ritual with White Buffalo Calf Woman

(all optional, use your intuition, the tools/gems you have and keep your intention true to you)

~White candle for peace

~Sage for cleansing

~White Buffalo Calf Woman symbol:
I used a print of a white buffalo, along with a goddess talisman made of water buffalo bone, a simple white feather would do.

~gems to create a crystal grid or symbolize the elements:
I used lepidolite for water, red jasper for earth, blue calcite for air, sunstone for fire.
For my grid I used A clear crystal point in the center, green calcite (heart chakra), watermelon calcite (tenderness), clear quartz arrowhead (action and courage), blue lace agate (self-love, compassion), and four clear quartz points (magnify and connect the energies). I used a Lemurian seed crystal point as my wand (direct and activate the energies). You can keep it simple by sticking to one or a couple of stones. Use your intuition to choose.

Layout your altar
(preferably under the moonlight, if not that's okay too)

Cleanse yourself with sage, light your candle, and prepare for ritual.

Sit down before your altar and close your eyes. Focus on your breath and heart chakra. What/who do you need to forgive?

Imagine the moonlight shimmering down towards you. The white, silvery light soaks into your crown chakra and down the rest. This light fills your aura and you glow outward. You are protected in this dome of moonlight.

Take your stones (or whatever you are using to represent the elements) and welcome each element into your ceremony:

"I welcome [earth, air, fire, water] into this sacred space. Thank you for your presence."

"I welcome you, White Buffalo Calf Woman, bringer of peace and compassion. I honor you and pray you you bless my path with peace and understanding."

To activate your crystal grid, take your wand and tap the center stone, next tap the top stone and bring the energy back to the center by tapping the center crystal again. Keep doing this all the way around making sure to always tap the center stone again. While tapping the crystals say aloud who and what you forgive. You can also use mantras or affirmations such as, "Peace," "Forgiveness," "As I forgive, I let go."  Even if you do not have a crystal grid, holding a stone or talisman in your hand while saying your mantras is perfectly fine too. Use what you have and use your intuition. Do this for as long as you feel called to. Let whatever emotions arise and stay focused on your intent.

Now that you activated your grid, close you eyes and imagine you are walking through a prairie. Feel the wind in your hair, the warmth of the sun on your skin. It is so peaceful and silent. You see a woman waiting for you in the distance and you go to meet her. She has beautiful dark long hair, and she is glowing. You meet White Buffalo Calf Woman for the first time. She leads you to a large, beautiful white buffalo. Take time now to communicate and bond with this Goddess and her buffalo. What do you ask, or talk about. How do you react with the buffalo? Stay with her for a while and know you don't need to be anywhere but here. When it is time to leave, thank her and her buffalo, does she leave you with anything? A message, a token?

Slowly come back to your breath, and your body. Thank the elements and and the Goddess. Close your circle and ceremony.

If you had it laid out under the moonlight, gently transfer your altar to a place inside you can keep up until the next Full Moon.

At the end of your ceremony, you can also draw a few tarot/oracle cards for yourself and intention. For me as I continue to forgive, I am rebirthing my soul and stepping into my healer role <3

May peace always be with you.

Love and Blessings,

Goddess Workshops: Aphrodite, the Love Goddess

This year I am working with more Goddess energy again.
It also has to do with my word of the year, Nest.

But honestly, I just miss Goddess, my Divine Mother.
For me, working with Goddess energy is so empowering, uplifting, and brings me back to my center. I feel I can touch the wisdom of my ancestors, the ancients, and the goddesses who inhabited the old world; I am a part of that line keeping the old ways strong. It is so powerful and humbling to me.

So I am starting with self-love with Goddess Aphrodite. I want to build a Nest of self-love in my being again. And I want to share this journey with you all. This is the first of the many Goddess workshops I am creating this year. The workshops dances around the Lunar phases (she is after all the symbol of Goddess), and helps you to create your own dance with the Love Goddess.

Venus/Aphrodite (note: I use the Roman and Greek names interchangeably) gets a bad rep sometimes. I actually used to really dislike her. I was turned off by the idea of all the lovers she's had and I thought it was so "cliche" to work with her.

Why did I get so defensive when it came to Aphrodite?

The truth is, she reflected all of the self-love, sensuality, self-worth I was missing in my life.

It took a long time to admit that to myself. But as soon as I did, I began to build a relationship with her and the love for myself grew. I looooooooove the smell of roses now (I used to HATE it!), and  I feel more comfortable in my skin.

It is time to come back to her.

The 4-week workshop will include:

~3-4 emails in your inbox per week focusing on each of the Lunar phases and how to work with the Goddess through each phase
~Goddess lore of Venus/Aphrodite
~Lunar wisdom
~meeting your Inner Love Goddess
~rituals to manifest love
~journaling prompts
~love recipes
~a complete ebook at the end to use whenever you want
~Private FB group for a loving community of support

I personally am focusing on self-love, but any love you wish to create is in the realm of Venus. We start in the New Moon phase of building our Love intentions, gathering our items. We build upon our actions in the Waxing phase. Manifest and Celebrate under the Full Moon. Resting in Love as Luna wanes. Each email and week build on one another as we work through each phase together.

This is going to be a beautiful experience. I hope you will join me.

It starts on the New Moon of March 11th.

The first 30 souls to register will also receive a free gift of love and magick, from me.

Love and Blessings,

Moon-Time Course Launch Date and Sale!

I want to say thank for supporting my VLOG today! It is very vulnerable to put yourself on camera for everyone to see, so good thing I am not too shy, haha!

I wanted to let you all know I have the e-course up for sale on Etsy now. The launch date will be on Monday, October 29th! So before then, I thought I would offer an opening sale!

Until the launch on the 29th it will be listed for $21 instead of my original price of $30. That is 30% off! I love to work with the number 3 with Moon related things; it represents the Maiden/Mother/Crone, Waxing/Full/Waning, so I thought it was very fitting, sacred,  and reasonable for the price. After the 29th it will be listed for $30.

Let's celebrate being women! I can't wait to share this journey with you all!

Love and Blessings,
Marissa Moondaughter

Guest Post: The True Domestic Goddess by Dominee

Hello sweet Loves,

Today a wonderful friend of mine has come over here to teach us about the Goddess Hestia, of the home and hearth. My motto at the moment is "Messy bed, messy head," and I have definitely been feeling this way. My home is so off balanced and I feel so unmotivated to do anything about it, so I asked Dominee to help me out! I hope you all enjoy!

Hestia Greek Goddess of Hearth by Dion Hamill

I have always been fascinated by the Greek Goddess, Hestia, Goddess of the hearth and home. I think she first appealed to me as a teenager because I identified with her introverted nature. She was mysterious, she was known for her kindness and charity amongst the Gods, and unlike the other Goddesses there wasn't anything scandalous or even overly interesting about her. She was kind of like me, yet she was still a Goddess. I thought that was pretty great.

Hestia is also known for giving up her seat on Mount Olympus for the God Dionysus so that she could devote all of her time tending the sacred fires. Which speaks to her giving nature and her dedication to her duties.

It was tradition when moving into a new home to evoke Hestia and ask for her blessing. Often times, the Greeks would take the hearth fire flame from their old home and bring it to the new as a representation of Hestia's protection.

I first began to form a bond with Hestia in the midst of a very severe period of depression. I wasn't taking care of myself and all aspects of my life suffered. I lived by myself and as a result of my depression, I lost all will to tidy up or care about my surroundings. After a few months I finally found the will to clean.

And it felt good. It felt magical.

It was just a small spot in my living room but that spot of cleanliness and organization made me feel good. I realized that taking care of my surroundings was in essence allowing me to take better care of myself. I began to research ways to bring more of that magic into my home.

There are a few different ways to invite Hestia into your home:
  • Don't just clean, make it a sacred experience. Add things to your housekeeping routine that make you feel good and make it fun for you, listen to music or dance while you clean. Add essential oils to your cleaning supplies or put crystals around your home for protection or to create a happy atmosphere.
  • Cleanse your surroundings of negative energies. Energies build up in our homes and can easily affect our moods. You can cleanse your space with sound, with incense, with prayer, and guided visualization. One of the most popular ways, and my favorite, is to use a bundle of sage and other herbs. Sage is easily found at any metaphysical shop and is wonderful at making your space vibrate with positive energy.
  • You can also create a small altar to Hestia on top of your fireplace or in your kitchen. This represents the Hearth aspect. Light a candle there and ask Hestia to bless your home and to watch over your family.
  • If you are having trouble finding the motivation to do chores try asking Hestia for assistance, she will give you just the push that you need to get housework done. Any activities that involve the home, such as cleaning, cooking, redecorating, can all benefit from a touch of Hestia Magic.

Invite the warm, loving, constant, flame of her love into your life.

Happy home-making!

Thank you so much Dominee!! I really needed to hear this post, and I am going to try all of your suggestions!

May Hestia bless all our hearths and homes!
