Full Moon: Tea Ritual with Lindsay Luna

Happy Full Moon beauties!

With this grounding Full Moon, I asked the Goddess Lindsay from Whole Body Alchemy to share a tea ritual - she makes tea magic! Enjoy :)

<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>

Making oneself a pot of tea is a magical process. Whether you intend to or not you are creating a ritual that is hundreds of years old.

All the elements are involved in making tea:
Earth is represented by the botanicals; seed, roots, leaves and flowers.
Water is the magical conduit that is used to infuse with the botanicals.
Fire is represented by the act of heating the water.
Air is the aromatic vapors released from the steam.

Combined, you have yourself a beautiful ceremony of the four corners, and by taking in the sacred brew you are honoring the fifth element of spirit.

To get started, select your tea and tea ware. Regardless of the tea ware you use, the sacred space you create is what is vital to the outcome of your ritual. This ritual is a time to let go of the concerns of the day and focus your intentions on the simple comforts available to you in the form of flower, leaf, root and seed.
Choosing herbs is also an important element. What do you have currently available in your cupboard  Are you feeling drawn to using a floral blend, a spicy, deep or pungent blend? The choice of tea can reflect what you may be needing at this time. For example; I often select creamy, spicy teas such as a ginger and vanilla.  Ginger is considered an herb of the moon, is fiery and sensual much like the full moon herself. Vanilla is also sensual, deep and aromatic.

Steeping
When you are ready to pour the water over the herbs speak softly while pouring, “I infuse this water with (insert your intentions here)”. During the next few minutes, let’s focus on breath.  Slowly breathing in for a count of four, pause at the top f your breath and exhale slowly for a count of four.  Once your tea is ready according to your taste preference, take your cup and find a comfortable place to settle in.

Sacred Space
Find a comfortable place  on the floor or at a table, preferably near a window where the light and the view are inspiring or relaxing. If the weather near you is cool keep a throw blanket handy that you can curl up in while you enjoy your tea. If it is warmer where you are take your tea outside and sit among the beauty of nature.

Where the magic happens:
As you begin to steep yourself in the comforts of tea, notice the aromas, the taste and the beauty in what your have created.  As the ribbons of steam unfurl around you- the lessons of the day are taken in with each sip.  If you have a notebook handy, now would be an ideal time to write down your inner reflections. As you sip your tea, is your mind wandering?  What are you thinking about?

Take a moment to release what is on your mind. Acknowledge it, let it go and take a deep breath and come back to the self-nurturing of this simple ritual.

With each sip we can practice letting go of the days burdens. With a clear mind our awareness is fine tuned and we can come back  into balance with our mind, body, and soul.

Once you have reached the end of your cup, take your herbs/ tea bag and gift them to your garden or compost bin. This small act is a great way to honor the earth and all the abundance she provides for us.

I hope you enjoy this tea ritual, I would love to hear your thoughts!

Full Moon: Libra/Venus Bath Soak

A lot of Moon happenings are going on right now! The first

KV Full Moon report

is live so check out your individual signs and the

moon ceremony

I created over there, as well as the beautiful

art

from Laura and a

releasing ritual

from Katelyn!

I wanted to do something a little bit different over here. Something more gentle embracing the Goddess Venus as her sign, Libra, is  ruling the Full Moon this month.

Taking a ritual bath is a really great way to embrace Lunar qualities, help to release stresses and anything blocking our energy, and get in touch with Venus and our body.

lovesoakblend.jpg

I created this recipe that I call Love Soak:

(I just filled my container and not necessarily any measurement)

3/4 Organic sea salt

A handful of pink Himalayan salt

Handful dried rose petals

Handful dried lavender buds

4-5 petals of dry pink hibiscus

6 drops Ylang Ylang oil

6 drops Geranium oil

1-2 drops vanilla essential oil

And mix altogether!

I loooooove the smell of this. As it settles, the aroma is just divine. The Hibiscus makes the water pink too! So add however much you want to increase the color! You can even add rose quartz, or whatever stones you want to soak with (just be careful they don't dissolve in water!).

The Full Moon is a great time to purify and cleanse your energy.

Tonight to either prepare for a Full Moon ritual, or to just relax and cleanse into the Lunar qualities, take a nice bath. Light candles, set the mood with music, light some incense - get in touch with your inner Venus. While in the bath, imagine all the negative energy leaving your body absorbing into the water.

Libra is about balancing, so think about what is out of balance in your priorities. Becoming aware and adding the things you need to nourish you will create more harmony and keep you in touch with your Venus qualities.

What are you doing this Full Moon?

Love and Blessings,

Marissa Moondaughter

Full Moon: Forgiveness Ceremony

Happy Full Moon, loves.

Forgiveness has been on my mind lately. I need to forgive and let go. Softening and peace need to reside in this new nest I am building. So I created this ritual to allow this to occur. Enjoy.

Forgiveness ritual with White Buffalo Calf Woman

Needed:
(all optional, use your intuition, the tools/gems you have and keep your intention true to you)

~White candle for peace

~Sage for cleansing

~White Buffalo Calf Woman symbol:
I used a print of a white buffalo, along with a goddess talisman made of water buffalo bone, a simple white feather would do.

~gems to create a crystal grid or symbolize the elements:
I used lepidolite for water, red jasper for earth, blue calcite for air, sunstone for fire.
For my grid I used A clear crystal point in the center, green calcite (heart chakra), watermelon calcite (tenderness), clear quartz arrowhead (action and courage), blue lace agate (self-love, compassion), and four clear quartz points (magnify and connect the energies). I used a Lemurian seed crystal point as my wand (direct and activate the energies). You can keep it simple by sticking to one or a couple of stones. Use your intuition to choose.

Layout your altar
(preferably under the moonlight, if not that's okay too)

Cleanse yourself with sage, light your candle, and prepare for ritual.

Sit down before your altar and close your eyes. Focus on your breath and heart chakra. What/who do you need to forgive?

Imagine the moonlight shimmering down towards you. The white, silvery light soaks into your crown chakra and down the rest. This light fills your aura and you glow outward. You are protected in this dome of moonlight.

Take your stones (or whatever you are using to represent the elements) and welcome each element into your ceremony:

"I welcome [earth, air, fire, water] into this sacred space. Thank you for your presence."

"I welcome you, White Buffalo Calf Woman, bringer of peace and compassion. I honor you and pray you you bless my path with peace and understanding."

To activate your crystal grid, take your wand and tap the center stone, next tap the top stone and bring the energy back to the center by tapping the center crystal again. Keep doing this all the way around making sure to always tap the center stone again. While tapping the crystals say aloud who and what you forgive. You can also use mantras or affirmations such as, "Peace," "Forgiveness," "As I forgive, I let go."  Even if you do not have a crystal grid, holding a stone or talisman in your hand while saying your mantras is perfectly fine too. Use what you have and use your intuition. Do this for as long as you feel called to. Let whatever emotions arise and stay focused on your intent.

Now that you activated your grid, close you eyes and imagine you are walking through a prairie. Feel the wind in your hair, the warmth of the sun on your skin. It is so peaceful and silent. You see a woman waiting for you in the distance and you go to meet her. She has beautiful dark long hair, and she is glowing. You meet White Buffalo Calf Woman for the first time. She leads you to a large, beautiful white buffalo. Take time now to communicate and bond with this Goddess and her buffalo. What do you ask, or talk about. How do you react with the buffalo? Stay with her for a while and know you don't need to be anywhere but here. When it is time to leave, thank her and her buffalo, does she leave you with anything? A message, a token?

Slowly come back to your breath, and your body. Thank the elements and and the Goddess. Close your circle and ceremony.

If you had it laid out under the moonlight, gently transfer your altar to a place inside you can keep up until the next Full Moon.

At the end of your ceremony, you can also draw a few tarot/oracle cards for yourself and intention. For me as I continue to forgive, I am rebirthing my soul and stepping into my healer role <3

May peace always be with you.

Love and Blessings,
Marissa Moondaughter

Moon Days: Full Moon Charging

The other night during the Full Moon, I charged a lot of stones under the Moonlight. It felt so good to get rid of some stagnant energy.

During the Full Moon, charging your gemstones is an opportune time to not only cleanse the energy of your crystals and whatever other talismans you may carry, but it also magnifies the energies of the said objects. Full Moon energy is potent with the energy of fullness, abundance, attraction, manifestation, love-- so keep in mind which stones and objects you want to amplify. That being said, you can charge objects at different moon phases for different energies you want to enhance.

This Full Moon, I charged a lot of rose quartz, moonstone, and clear quartz for the upcoming Goddess Workshop with Aphrodite, to enhance attracting love ;)

I also charged my selenite wand and tower to enhance their healing qualities as I continue to grow into my healing role.

I charged my amethyst chunks to help open my third-eye and enhance my moon readings.

And I charged my Medicine bag made by Sage Goddess enhancing the self-mothering needed to take place within me.

Moon charging does not need to be complicated. You can simply leave them out in the moonlight and go about your business. Or you can say a prayer before you let them soak. Or you can make a full ritual out of it. I lit incense and a candle, held each of the stones and said some prayers and affirmations. And then as an ultimate blessing (to me) I kiss each of my stones. Nerdy? Probably :)

What stones did you charge this Full Moon?

Love and blessings,
Marissa Moondaughter

P.s. I also wanted to clarify my new feature I posted on Saturday. It is called "Full Moon" and meant to capture the essence, magic, and beauty of Luna in her fullest form. It will not only showcase Full Moon Sacred Spaces, but also sacred crafts, rituals, and recipes inspired by the Full Moon. It will be a once a month feature obviously due to the moon's movement, so if you would like to contribute please let me know! Email me at marissa (dot) moondaughter @ gmail.com under the subject 'Full Moon' :)
And be sure to check out Ally's lovely Full Moon Altar!
